A Star Wars Galaxies dupe is a cheat that is used to double or triple your gold or items. This is done by exploiting a bug in the game which allows you to duplicate some of the game’s most rare items and gain unlimited amounts of gold. SWG dupes are highly sought after by members who want high level characters with the minimal amount of work or want to instantly transform an underprivileged character.
Depending on what degree the duping took place, it can affect a game’s economy. SWG gold duping can cause inflation and item dupes can cause the item to lose value over time.
Previously one Star Wars Galaxies money dupe was discovered by game developers when they compared how much money was created vs. how much money was destroyed. They noted that even that even though more money left the game then entered, there was no shortage of gold in SWG.

SOE responded by banning the accounts that processed the duped gold. That, however, caused a lot of controversy since many members that gained the gold legitimately through the trade system were also banned.
Some members responded to this unfair punishment by forming a mass demonstration at the central location of SWG world. SOE responded to this riot by teleporting all characters away from the demonstration location.
Although no evidence has ever been gathered, one popular urban legend persists that many characters were teleported out into space, killing them.
If you would like to learn more about dupes and other cheats you can do so by joining a SWG forum. Who knows, you may even run into one of those notorious players who were involved in the demonstration and learn their side of the story.

To try to recruit more players and to try and convince former gamers to rejoin the game, SOE let certain gamers play for free between February and March of this year. This offer was only made available to SWG accounts that were active between January 1, 2007 and November 30, 2009. It was not available to accounts closed prior to and after that time period.

This offer to play for free was not available to Star Wars Galaxies accounts that were still active, got banned, or the accounts that were not in good standing when their former subscription expired or got terminated.
Former members that met these requirements and reactivated their SWG accounts and billing received:
- The Rebel Charge of Glory Class Dark Trooper in-game house painting
- The customizable Factional House Painting loyalty reward
Are you a former member of SWG? Maybe your reason for leaving the game was lack of time to play, that you never made much progress, or that you even got bored with the game. You may have missed out on reactivating your Star Wars Galaxies account for free but you now have more reason than ever to rejoin the game.
Reason 1:
There are more SWG hacks and exploits available than ever before to get around boring game rules and have more fun playing the game
Reason 2:
If you’re running short on time, simply start up a Star Wars Galaxies macro and let it do the leveling for you.
Reason 3:
It you’re one of those people that find the game too complicated or don’t want to take the time to learn, make it easy with Star Wars Galaxies guides or hints.
If you are thinking about reopening a Star Wars Galaxies account, with all these resources available to enhance your game experience, now would be the perfect time.

A Star Wars Galaxies bug is a defect in the code of a program. A huge problem in SWG is the number of bugs in the system and Sony Online Entertainment, the game developer, is being criticized for releasing an incomplete game.

As one game critic states:
“A bug is the crap that was supposed to be fixed before they sold you the game and ruined your day.”
Critics go on to complain that the gaming industry has no right to sell games that are flawed; if a CD doesn’t play the last song, you get a refund. If a DVD is missing a chapter, you also get your money back. This should hold true for the gaming industry as well.
While the ever-present SWG bugs are causing a lot of controversy, many gamers are welcoming them with open arms. They are oftentimes able to use them to their advantage and see it as an opportunity to get ahead in the game.
The bugs are also known as Star Wars Galaxies exploits, glitches, and even dupes. These bugs can allow players to do things never intended by regular gameplay such as:
- Multiply gold and items
- Complete missions in a fraction of the time
- Play in Godmode
- And much, much more

Star Wars Galaxies is now offering rewards to veteran players. These veteran rewards are exclusive SWG items that are given to players in appreciation of their investment in the game. Whether you have played the game for several months or several years, you are sure to get rewarded.
Veteran rewards start on the 3rd month of your subscription and are give out every 3 months after that. You’ll know when you’ve reached a veteran reward milestone since a window will pop up when you log into the game, letting you chose from available Star Wars Galaxies items. For those players not interested in rewards, SWG allows them to trade or give away the reward items to other players.

I think these reward items are long overdue since veterans not only contribute so much to the game but many of them have dedicated hours on end creating SWG Guides to improve the game for less experience players. These SWG guides include secrets such as
- Fastest ways to level
- Star Wars Galaxies gold making tricks
- How to get better weapons
- SWG strategies to build a stronger character
These helpful Star Wars Galaxies secrets allow you to learn from veteran players and not make the same mistakes as they did. This can save you hours and days of frusteration
